This prominent but small four roomed cottage and outbuildings are located on a corner allotment of only 135m2 in the Adelaide CBD.  The Capital City Zoning of the land created the challenge and opportunity for increased density and the adaptive reuse of the former shop and dwelling, a Local Heritage Place (Townscape).

The development area was further reduced by the requirement for a 6 metre retention depth.

Flightpath initially prepared documentation for the conservation of the four roomed cottage. The external conservation works that were part funded through the Adelaide City Council’s Heritage Incentive Scheme required paint removal from red brick external walls, repointing, parapet repairs, the reinstatement of render and external painting of previously painted timber windows and doors.

Internal works included partial rewiring, repairs to the lathe and plaster ceilings and cupboards.

Planning Consent has been granted for a seven storey apartment building to the rear of the cottage.
