Flightpath's own studio at 101, Hindley Street sits amongst an eclectic mix of arts infusion, retail refurbishment, long established restaurants, entertainment venues and Hindley Street grunge.
Before the project commenced, the vacated terrace building consisted of separately accessed first and ground floor area. The design objective was to transform a worn out shop front, rear and interior (overrun with redundant services, low ceilings, dreary carpets and plywood wall linings) into a dynamic, integrated studio and gallery space.
The project involved understanding the building and its characteristics, identifying key areas for improvements and then removing previous building layers that detracted from the design objectives, the original character and the quality of the spaces that we knew could be achieved.
