The Dulwich Residence is a project currently under construction.
A much loved family home, the traditional double fronted bluestone villa, is being refurbished to provide sympathetic, but contemporary alterations to the existing stone cottage, making use of the existing layout to create new spaces fit for a growing family.
A modern approach to the addition, differentiates between the old and new, yet echoes the façade of the existing through complementing the proportions of existing features and through the choice of materials, colours and textures.
The addition is purposefully separated from the existing cottage, by a low roofed link, which connects to the new carport and external store.
The refined interior has a clean and modern aesthetic and incorporates integrated and cohesive joinery to define specific areas.
A north orientated skillion roof maximises passive heating and cooling and views of the pool and landscaping. The bold roof line folds down the south façade, creating a defined outdoor barbeque area, which connects directly with the kitchen.
The internal dining and living area is extended externally via large bi-fold doors to the timber deck, which wraps around the addition to the north.
