STEM works to existing facilities which spreads the benefit of STEM learning to all students in the School
The preferred STEM project option at O’Sullivan Beach School integrates STEM into all eight General Learning Areas (GLAs) of the school within the two levels of solid-construction Main Building 01, being three GLAs on the ground floor and five on the first floor.
Each GLA is opened up internally to a STEM space as an extension and integral part of the teaching space. The majority of the works are in the creation and fit-out of the STEM spaces using the corridors and underutlised ancillary areas. The works to the STEM spaces include the removal of walls, new ceilings and lighting, new floor coverings, additional split unit air- conditioning, and STEM fittings including wet points and IT hubs. Each integrated GLA/STEM space is separately zoned from its neighbour with NCC compliant doorways – thus containing noise and providing discreet control of air-conditioning.
